Mythos Labs, in collaboration with The High Commission of Canada in India, conducted a business bootcamp for female ecopreneurs called ‘Grow Greener Girl’. The Bootcamp empowered 22 female founders of early-stage green startups from India, Nepal and Bhutan by providing them with the training, resources and skills they need to grow their eco-friendly businesses. The Bootcamp also built a supportive network of female entrepreneurs to encourage the exchange of knowledge, opportunities and guidance related to entrepreneurship.

Grow Green Girl Business Bootcamp for
Women Ecopreneurs

Mythos Labs, in collaboration with The High Commission of Canada in India, organized the ‘Grow Greener Girl’ business bootcamp, empowering 22 female founders of early-stage green startups from India, Nepal, and Bhutan. The initiative provided comprehensive training, resources, and skills essential for the growth of eco-friendly businesses. This collaborative effort not only equipped participants with tools for success but also fostered a supportive network among female entrepreneurs, promoting knowledge exchange and guidance in entrepreneurship. Additionally, in partnership with the UN Environment Programme, Mythos Labs extended its impact, training 20 women founders from across Asia on marketing, communications, and branding. The 3-day workshop incorporated innovative techniques, including the use of comedy and entertainment to amplify each startup’s message. Participants left with tangible assets and strategies, such as brand pyramids, customer personas, marketing plans, channel strategies, and video advertisement scripts, contributing to the sustainable development of their green businesses.

Mythos Labs collaborated with award-winning journalist Noura Eljerbi to produce two videos addressing the importance of gender equality and women’s empowerment in Libya. The videos, aimed at raising awareness about domestic violence as well as encouraging women’s participation in Libya’s peace and political processes, have received over 80,000 views online.

Edutaining Videos to Counter Mis/Disinformation in Libya

Mythos Labs used its MIDAC technology to identify the most common mis/disinformation narratives in Libya. Using the results, Mythos Labs collaborated with Libya’s leading social media influencer ‘Rahalista’ to create two edutaining counter-narrative videos teaching citizens how to safeguard themselves from online mis/disinformation.

 

With support from Global Affairs Canada, we conducted a training for 12 Libyan human rights activists and civil society leaders, teaching them how to identify and defend against human rights violations and harmful social media narratives, as well as create “edutaining” online videos promoting tolerance and awareness about human rights.

Promoting Media Literacy and Online Safety in South Asia

As part of our collaboration with Awareness with Human Action (AHA!), and with the support of the European Union, we conducted 10 capacity building training sessions for civil society members and activists across Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka on understanding media literacy and creating positive digital content to combat hate speech and promote social cohesion.

 

The participants were given a broad understanding of media literacy, including concepts like mis/disinformation, fake news, online harassment, hate speech and online safety and privacy. The participants also learned how to create positive online content to share important social messages. They were taught how to develop video scripts, film and edit videos on their mobile phones using basic editing software, as well as share content safely and responsibly ensuring their digital privacy.

SMILE: Social Media and Internet Literacy E-module

SMILE: Social Media and
Internet Literacy E-module

Mythos Labs developed a first-of-its-kind module called SMILE (Social Media and Internet Literacy E-Module) that teaches Indian internet users how to identify and defend against misinformation, online harassment, and threats to their digital privacy.

 

SMILE consists of a series of “edutaining” videos featuring popular Indian comedian Saloni Gaur that explain key concepts in a localized, appealing manner. The videos are interspersed with multiple choice questions that test students’ understanding of the material. SMILE’s edutainment-based approach has been highly successful – within weeks of its release, it has accrued over 9,000 organic registrations and has been incorporated into the curriculums of 35 schools across India.
